Autonomous flying planes created by James McGrew

These autonomously flying planes were made for a research project at MIT.  Each plane weighs about 20 grams, and is equipped with a Gasparin GB45S7O motor, MicroInvent MCF5030 prop, MCA3 and MCA3A actuators, MINOR receiver/ESC, 15 mm fiberboard wheels, and a LIPO85-P battery.  The wing area is 1 square foot, and the wing loading is about 1 oz/sq ft.  These autonomous flyers are covered with RA Microlite film, and Blenderm tape is used for the hinges.

Good luck on your project Jim.
