Battery Bunkers
If you charge Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery packs then you need a Battery Bunker. Handmade of high fired stoneware, the Battery Bunker can withstand temperatures over 2000 degrees. In the event of a battery fire, and if the lid is properly attached to the container, the Battery Bunker will allow smoke and some fire to vent through the wire slot, and around the lid. This will contain the flame to the charging area, and help prevent flames from spreading away from the container. Your Battery Bunker should be placed in an area away from flammable materials. The actual size of the containers vary slightly, and the approximate sizes are listed below. Each Battery Bunker comes with an instruction sheet.
Lipo battery packs should always be stored, and charged in a fire safe container. See our LiPo battery page for Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery pack usage guidelines.
Note: The top for the Battery Bunkers are no longer made with the blue symbol.
